Scottish Champions 5th Fife 2006 & 2007
The Fife Area Flag Camping Competition was held over the weekend 9th and 10th June, two weeks after the Centenary camp and two weeks before the Inter Area, making this a very busy time for the winners the 5th from Kirkcaldy. The 2nd Fife in Dunfermline came second and in 3rd place the 48th Dalgety Bay (St Davids) troops.
The 2007 Inter-Area Flag was held over the weekend 23rd – 24th June 2007 at Auchengillan. The date had been brought forward from to fit in with other events being held throughout the centenary year. Fife was represented by the 5th in Kirkcaldy, who took the honours again, winning for the second consecutive year.
The marks for both of the competitions have been circulated to AC, DCs and ADC(S)s for distribution down to patrols, but if you want a copy give me a call/email. Well done to all.
This was the last Inter-Area Flag. SHQ are looking for an event to replace this long running annual camping competition. No decision has been taken as the Fife camping competition, although Derek Colley, indicated that he would not want to it vanish, I would be happy to hear suggestions on how this event could continue into the new era.
The Zodiac camping awards seem to be gaining popularity again, and all Scout leaders, should now have the latest wall chart produced by SHQ, along with supporting documents. These were to be distributed out by DCs, so if you haven’t got your copy…. you know whom to contact.
Finally, I am aware of two scouts, one from the 5th Kirkcaldy and one from the 68th Inverkeithing, who took part this year in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Well done to you both, and any others whom I may not know about, and I hope you had a great time.
